Ende Juni veröffentlicht der britische Sänger David Gray sein neues Studioalbum “Mutineer” über Kobalt Label Services.
Es ist das zehnte Studioalbum und das erste seit vier Jahren.
Der Vorgänger “Foundling” landete 2010 in der Top-10 der US-Billboard-Albumcharts.

Zur Entstehung weiß David Gray Folgendes zu sagen: “I always write melody first and lyrics second, so I started to write lyrics down and think, right, I’m going to put this to music now. And that was a bizarrely uncomfortable process. And I was layering my voice; something I just found myself doing a lot on a lot of the new tracks. Again, to get away from the density of my voice, just the intensity of it, it’s so loud, it’s so intense, it’s so direct – so singing more softly, singing in falsetto, singing under the voice in a lower voice, finding new sounds, so that it was still me, but it sounded different.”
David Gray spielt im April und Anfang Mai eine jetzt schon ausverkaufte US-Tour und im Juni acht Shows in England um sein neues Album live vorzustellen.
“Mutineers” erscheint digital, Standard CD im Jewel Case, als Deluxe CD (mit Livealben) und als Doppel-Vinyl.
Außerdem wird von David Grays Album “Mutineers” auch eine Deluxe 3-fach CD-Version erscheinen.
Die Special Edition kommt mit zwei zusätzlichen CDs mit Live-Aufnahmen inklusive neue Versionen der Hit-Singles “Babylon” und “Sail Away”.
Des weiteren wird es eine Doppel-LP im Gatefold geben, das den Bonustrack “Nearly Midnight” beinhaltet.
