Vinnie Paz, Frontmann bei Jedi Mind Tricks, gründete 1998 als eine Art Hommage an die Rap-Crews aus den 1980er und frühen 1990er Jahren die Army of the Pharaohs.
Von Beginn war es ein Kollektiv aus der Indie-HipHop-Szene bestehend aus bekannten Emcees.

Bis heute gehören Vinnie Paz und Esoteric der Crew an und sind schon auf der ersten 12″-Single “Five Perfect Exertions” zu hören.
Das Debütalbum “The Torture Papers” erschien 2006.
Am 25. April 2014 soll via Enemy Soil / The Orchard als CD, Digital Release und auf Vinyl das neue Album “In Death Reborn” von Army of the Pharaohs erscheinen.
Auf dem vierten Studioalbum werden unter anderem als Gäste dabei sein: Blacastan, Zilla, Block McCloud, Demoz, Doap Nixon, King Magnetic und Lawrence Arnell.
